Now since the start of the climb in the COVID19 disease wave pandemic, Lime has responded to this dangerous situation by recalling all the electric kick scooters.

In March 17, 2020 the company Lime known by the famous rent electric kick scooters and micro mobility had the decision of pulling its shared of electric kick scooters from 20 countries and 21 states, including California, as the number of Corona virus disease cases spread across the world. This decision was also made by other companies like Bird.

Keep in mind that in June of 2018, the brand Bird raised a total $300 million, valuing at $2 billion and around mid 2018, Bird's electric scooters achieved 10 million rides.

Now, with "stay at home" or also known as "shelter-in-place" rules, social distancing, and most people are staying at home, electric scooter renting companies are likely seeing a steep drop in demand. This actions are great to help population wave of disease, and a nice effort agains Corona virus disease!

Lime, with around near of 120000 electric scooters in thirty countries world wide, is making the most radical but needed cuts. Lime said it was "winding down or pausing" service in the mentioned countries bellow:

Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US.

Soon more countries will join if this climbs more, actions will be take and more electric kick scooters with be archived until better occasions.
